Chef’s Counter

The Chef's Counter is an intimate dining experience featuring a 16-seat counter where you will enjoy 8 courses and over a dozen paired wines. The wines will range from hidden gems to local and global benchmarks. Our pairing ideas are inspired by the food we make as well as what we’ve experienced traveling the world and working directly with wineries.  Each night we discuss the wine’s place of origin, winemaking methods and more as we taste and compare side by side.

We also offer special themed dining experiences, highlighting specific wine regions, styles, vintages, and producers.  

WINE TRIPS

For the last 10 years, we’ve been fortunate to host educational wine trips around the world, taking us from Antarctica to Tanzania, Bordeaux to Barolo. We offer “Wine Immersions” to classic wine regions visiting wineries and cellars, while “Wine Camps” happen in special locations where the destination (ex. Seychelles or Bora Bora) is the star. Regardless of location, each trip is an in-depth journey featuring top-flight wines and limited to 10-16 guests. That size allows us to visit special wineries and restaurants that are difficult to book or find as well as open special wines side-by-side in the spirit of the Chef’s Counter at Somm’s Kitchen. 

PRIVATE EVENTS

Bring the Somm’s Kitchen experience to your home or experience with your private group at ours. We are available to travel select locations as well as offer a full buyout of our Paso Robles restaurant. We can explore unique concepts such as cult wine tastings or Burgundian-only pairings- whatever you would love to try. Email us for more information.
